SUBJECT: # 2766: Fly Reels

Submitted by big scary (207.218.203.240) from TEXAS on 8/26/04 12:34:00 PM

Does anyone have any experience using Bauer M4 fly fishing reels? Lookin at some on ebay and was wondering if they would be good to fish the bay with and if they would last a good while..thanks

I've had my Bauer M4 for almost 7 years now. I've caught Reds, Flounder, Specks, and Small Tarpon on it. I have 200 YDS of 20 # backing and am using the Flip Pallot floating 8 weight line. I haven't had any problems in the reel. The finish looks new and the drag system is like new. Normal maintenance (Freshwater Wash after Salt use. I would highly recommend the reel, good reel for the money.
