This is my first time posting on this board so forgive me if my question has already been addressed. Several friends of mine and I are interested in going tarpon fishing in Florida within the next few months. We are mostly bass fisherman, so we are looking for a guide and some advice on when and where to go for tarpon. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Denny

Fish Hawk (129.33.49.251) from NORTH CAROLINA says Tarpon
In the Florida Keys late May and early June is the "peak" of the Tarpon season. I will be on Big Pine key the first week in June. Any guide that has any clue should be able to put you on fish that time of year. Book early because good guides book up early. If you elect to go to the Keys and don't get a guide recommendation you can contact Holiday Isle in Islamorada and they can set you up with a giude or guides. You should flat out wear them out that time of year in Islamorada. Don't forget to book accomodations as well. Depending on your budget there are lots of places to stay. I stayed many years at the Kon Tiki when I lived in Florida. Nice reasonable place to stay with several different accomodations available at their facility PLUS you can see and feed the (Huge Redfish, Tarpon, Jacks, Grouper, Jewfish, and others) in their saltwater pool. Good Luck..._
